Level Up For The Kids 6 Recap
Who knew, gamers helping gamers could lead to a good thing! In 2019, Level Up For Charity partnered with Davenport University’s Esports program to host Level Up For The Kids 6 at their esports lab
Colin Graham, program head coach and lead of esports at Davenport expressed his excitement in partnering with a local organization to help raise money for Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital through Extra Life.
Jordan Briney, Dylan Lange, and Austin Groat participated in 24 straight hours of non-stop gaming, along with featured guest, Michelle “MikkiMeesh” Manthei, and together raised nearly $7,000 through Extra Life!
Included in Level Up For Charity’s guest list was a one-in-a-million kid, Kendall Mead to share his story about how Helen DeVos helped him and his family push through a rare illness and get to where they are now! Of course, we got the chance to play some Sega Bass Fishing and Blindfolded Rocket League with him too.
Level Up For Charity’s team was able to present a check to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital concluding the event, and tour the hospital! We again graciously thank all of you who have supported us through our six years of raising money for various charity organizations, and can’t wait for what 2020 will bring us!
